Project group Hambantota consists of four students from Delft university of Technology, with specialisations ports and waterways, dredging engineering, coastal engineering and construction management and engineering. As part of their Master’s program they organized a research project in Sri Lanka where siltation is a major problem for small scale fisheries harbours.
With support of CDR the students will analyse the situation for one specific harbour in Hambantota, located in the south of Sri Lanka. They will evaluate different solutions and present a development plan to local stakeholders as a result of their study.
