Gulf Cobla is involved with the dredging and reclamation works for the Hassyan Clean Coal Power Plant project. The project consists of four 600MW net power units and is location South of Jebel Ali Waterfront. The area between the project site and the Jebel Ali Waterfront is the Jebel Ali Sanctuary. CDR has been commissioned to assess the effects of the settling pond outflow discharge on the suspended sediment concentrations in the vicinity of the project area by means of a numerical model simulation.
CDR has assessed the effects of the settling pond outflow discharge on the suspended sediment concentrations in the vicinity of the project area. A basic conceptual numerical model simulation was carried out of which the results were interpreted taking the surrounding conditions such as waves, current and the use of silt screens into account.
