RIU Hotels & Resorts is intending to build a new 4-star and 5-star resort in the Maldives. The conceptual design of the resort is prepared by RIU. Especially at the east coasts erosion is visible. As the islands are uninhabited, the coastal stability needs to be analysed before finalizing the design of the hotels.
Analysis of the coastal situation, design of the beaches and marine works is requested from CDR. for supply and arrival of hotel guests, two small harbours, a jetty and a (floating) sea plane platform are required.
CDR has undertaken a site visit, determination of hydraulic conditions (waves, wind, water levels), analysis beach stability and recommendations, preliminary design of Marine Works (lay-out harbours, breakwaters, quay-wall, jetties); elementary BOQ for cost estimating purpose.
